MYSTERY TRIPS REVEALED
Travelers had been requesting Mystery trips for years before we finally introduced our first Cabin Fever Mystery Trip in February 2007. Nobody knew where we were headed, but we booked two full motor coaches and started for Deerfield where we began with a visit to the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory, moved on to Historic Deerfield, Yankee Candle Company, and Richardson's Candies before heading for home laden with treasures from the Winter Blowout Sale. A good time was had by all.
The following year we hosted not one, but two Mystery Trips, one in summer and one in winter, and by 2012, we offered three per year. So, what is a mystery trip? Easy, it's a tour where the destination is unknown. Usually, there is a cultural component, perhaps, a historic house or military installation; sometimes we head for a tourist attraction; and usually we include an outstanding meal and an opportunity for shopping. Mystery trips are win-win situations. We hope you'll share one of these adventures with us soon. Click on some of our past destinations to get an idea about our typical mystery tour.
MYSTERY TRIPS
Attendance on our Mystery trips has been declining over the past few years – partly because of rising motor coach, tourist venue, and dining costs – and partly because many who enjoy this type of tour can no longer do the walking necessary. So, for the time being, we won’t be running Mystery trips.
Instead, we’ll offer trips of a similar type where destination and activities are known in advance. It’s been a good run – take a walk down memory lane by checking out past Mystery trips below.
