Provincetown is a very special place. It’s the most diversely populated small town fishing village in the world! And that includes its visitors: Couples, Singles, Families, Short, Tall, Skinny, Fat, Gay, Straight, Young, Old…Don’t worry, you’ll fit right in! Nestled in the protecting arm of the Cape Cod peninsula at its very tip, Provincetown is where the Pilgrims first came ashore in the New World in 1620, seeking the refuge afforded to fishermen and explorers dating back to the Vikings. Today, the old town retains much of its essential New England seaport character of rugged individualism and entrepreneurship, Town Meeting democracy and politics, soaring neo-Classical church spires and honky-tonk, all surrounded by the splendid isolation and awe-inspiring natural beauty encased in the Cape Cod National Seashore.
